Lakes are such serene places, why not go to Horseshoe Lake near Slaughterhouse Lake, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Grapevine Inn is a good location to spend a night or two. All through the warm months, highs mostly are in the 80's at Slaughterhouse Lake with overnight lows in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 30's, and       night lows through the wintertime for Slaughterhouse Lake tend to be in the 20's. For you golfers we recommend nearby Black Rock Creek Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. If you came for an overnight stay Dalke's RV Park is a good site to camp, and a delightful lake like Warren Lake is a good location to pop by.
