You clearly have to go for the Northern Cascade Range. The Escondido Trail offers hiking at its best, and hey, Chief Creek is a great local stream. whitewater on Cooper River for all you adrenaline people. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Snoqualmie/Summit is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t
go skiing at Snoqualmie since you're here. A splendid view of beautiful Bears Breast Mountain is available from Shovel Lake. If you came to camp Tucquala Meadow Campground is a great place to do that, and if you've had enough
of Shovel Lake, Spade Lake is nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Shovel Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Hour Creek Campground is a great local campground, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for
you then, we recommend Deception Creek. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. The high level of rain makes Shovel Lake a quite wet site; January is the wettest month with most snow, and July is the month with the least moisture.

Bonnie Lake
Bonney lake Is not trained. It is drained in the winter, who ever runs the dam doesn't man it in winter so they let it drain. There was talk that they would not fill it any more....Just heard that Bonnie Lake is drained in the winter and then refilled in the Spring. Can you tell me why?...

Tucquala Lake
1 PHOTO This ''Lake'' Is Beautiful. It really isn't a lake at all, in the summer it is a widening of the river. Very slow moving river, more like a slough, it is very clean, clear, and cold, mountain runoff. The fishing is excellent from a small boat or float tube, although the current can be somewhat strong. I fly fished, using a #14 Adams, and caught 11 rainbow and cutthroat trout between 6 & 11'', in the early to mid evening. This was in July of 2008. Camping was good, small sites along the main road. Keep your food in the cars though as Bears are definitely out....
Stephens Pass
10 miles away 1 PHOTO Stevens has a wide diversity of trails and runs that suits every riding style. From beginner to expert and for those terrain park junkies Stevens has you covered. I think what's special about Stevens is you can find your own little part of the mountain which is all yours, I have 4-5 little runs that cross between trails and off-piste that are all mine. Also the snow is crazy good, powder almost all the time. My favorite runs are Orion, some tree skiing near wall street, and right above the power lines. Stevens also has some pretty sweet out of bounds stuff to so check it out...
Lake Pugsley

Pacific Crest Trail - section 25
13 miles away Roundtrip Distance 17.4 miles Elevation Gain 2,574 ft. This peak is trailless, meaning a portion or all of the route up the mountain is via an unmarked trail. For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not. In many instances the hiker will travel down a false herd path and eventually have to correct his/her course via backtracking. For these particular mountains, it is imperative that the hiker carry a compass (and know how to use it) and topographic map....
Wish Poosh Campground
14 miles away We overnighted at this campsite a couple of weekends ago. The camp hosts were wonderful, they were informative and kept the grounds and the bathrooms spic-n-span clean. They were always in their golf cart putting around taking care of this or that. They scolded us for staying the night in a place we weren't supposed to, and I felt bad about that because I knew we shouldn't have stayed there but my partner insisted and it was his birthday. I knew they were just keeping order at the campground they were in charge of, and I appreciated that. Keep up the good work!...
Snoqualmie
15 miles away 3 PHOTOS From the steep and deep to the high-speed buffed-out cruisers, from our gentle learning areas to our benchmark parks and pipe, diversity is a way of life around here. With four unique base areas and less than an hour from Seattle on Interstate 90, no other resort in the country offers so much variety with this much convenience. Consider it a buffet for the outdoor enthusiast! For the third year in a row, we stayed open longer than any other resort in the state, this season through Memorial Day. What can we say? We love spring skiing as much as you do! So if you're looking for a true escape this winter, look no further than The Summit. Just around the corner... ...A MILLION MILES AWAY!...
