Washington has many beautiful lakes and Shovel Lake is one of them. At Shovel Lake during the long summer days highs are in the 60's while night lows are generally in the 40's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 20's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Shovel Lake temperatures plunge to the 10's. What would winter be without some skiing at Stephens Pass; don't leave Shovel Lake without first going for a hike along the Escondido Trail. This lake

| | is so wonderful. Get your pulse rate up on the brilliant whitewater of Deception Creek, and if you came for an overnight stay Tucquala Meadow Campground is a magnificent spot to camp.

here in the Northern Cascade Range. You simply should adore the Northern Cascade Range. You can run the rapids of Cooper River right next door to Shovel Lake; if you need a location to stay Cascadia Inn is a good choice.

hiking is available along the Cooper Pass Trail, and if you've had enough of Shovel Lake, Lake Rebecca is close by. Man, is there heaps of entertaining stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Very scenic scenery and great skiing is what you get at Snoqualmie, and there's brilliant hiking along the Lake Michael Trail.
