The 6 great ski lifts carry skiers up the 1,500-foot drop from top to bottom at the nearby ski hill White Pass. White Pass gets an average of 29 feet of great snow yearly on its 32 runs. This lake is so wonderful. The view of Pigtail Peak from Shoe Lake is stunning; there's wonderful hiking along
the Dark Meadows Trail. Nearby you bump into the Soda Springs to Highway 123 portion, a grade V+ stretch of whitewater. It's a good 5-mile-long stretch on Summit Creek.
