     Sherman Lake is a nice lake to visit. Sherman Lake is a perfect place to visit for more than one day, Canyon Creek Campground is a perfect place to camp nearby, and Lilly Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by. Sherman Lake is ordinarily a reasonably arid site; most of the snow falls through December, and the driest month is October.
This site is excellent, just explore all the enjoyable things to do in the vicinity of Sherman Lake. Hiking along
 
   the White Mountain Trail is splendid fun, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Colville is a pleasant place to spend a night or two. Going for a hike along the Daisy Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and if you're looking for a perfect trip, Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is relatively near. For the period of the long summer days highs here at Sherman Lake reach the 80's, and the night is a bit colder of course, generally  
               in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are mostly in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Sherman Lake.
Hart Creek flows through this vicinity, and in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sherman Creek. This lake is so wonderful. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Sherman Lake has to offer, you can camp at Trout Lake Campground, and a lake nearby is Emerald Lake.

Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful....
