Sheep Lake is always a pleasure to visit. Shriner Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore, and Summit Creek has a perfect whitewater paddling spot close by. Take a side visit to Olallie Creek, and there's tremendous hiking along the Sheep Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Crystal Mountain. There's so much to do here at Sheep Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Ohanapecosh Campground is a magnificent spot for

| | that. The high level of rainfall makes Sheep Lake a pretty wet place; the month with most of the rain is November, and the driest of the months is July. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Northern Cascade Range, too tremendous to be true. A lake close by is Three Lakes; one of the major features of the surroundings of Sheep Lake is Shriner Peak. Sheep Lake beyond doubt is in the middle of a beautiful outdoors paradise. Sheep Lake; Boundary Trail is a great local trail, and since you're here at Sheep Lake it's a delightful idea to go to Cedar Flats. The warmest time of the year at Sheep Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. Once the
sun is down it descends down to the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's while Sheep Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 30's. All year is a delightful time in the Northern Cascade Range if
you have a thing about the outdoors. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Sheep Lake has to offer, you can camp at Summit Creek Campground, and the Kincaid Trail offers hiking at its best. In the event that you don't
mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Chinook Creek. This lake is located in the wonderful Northern Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful. Gotta ski! White Pass is a fine place to do that, and visiting Mount Rainier National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet.

Granite Lake
 | 12 miles away Granite Lake has crystal clear water, is surrounded by a very primtive campground. I don't recall how many campsites there are, but I have never been there when there was more than one other party. The surrounding area is incredibly beautiful, well worth the extremely rough road in. 4 wheel drive only. There is an abandoned copper mine in the area, and if you can find the trailhead, (good luck), the scenery is breathtaking. I've been to the mine 3 times. Watch out for bears! There is a ghost town below the copper mine. Very little is left. There are picnic tables, no water and no bathrooms. Come prepared.... |
