From a rain point of view Shearer Lake is a quite common place; all through the month of December you get the most snow around here, and the driest month is July. At Shearer Lake during the summertime highs are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 40's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Shearer Lake. Near Shearer       Lake you stumble on the Chipmunk Rapids National Recreation Trail which is a fine hiking trail. Lakes? Sure, Freeman Lake is in close proximity. Going for a hike on the Hanna Flast Nature Trail is always a good adventure; there are other places here than Shearer Lake, for example Willy-O Lake. You imagine that's sufficient?
