Shadow Lake

Hiking is a popular thing to do around Shadow Lake; Flip-O-Way Trail is a splendid local trail. A lake close by is Coplay Lake; camping is available at White River Campground. There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby White Pass. Nearby there is a tremendous 5-mile-long category V whitewater run, the to Cowlitz River section of Cowlitz River - Muddy Fork. This run of Cowlitz River - Muddy Fork is not a spot where beginners should come raft paddling.
Near Shadow Lake is a great 5-mile-from-start-to-finish part of whitewater on Chinook Creek, a grade IV-V, this is the Deer Creek to Cedar Flats segment.
