Much rain falls at Ryan Lake; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is July. This lake is one of the great places here in the Northern Cascade Range. That right there is loads of exciting things already but it goes on, the Northern Cascade Range has it all. Cowlitz Falls Campground is a fine local campground, and Cispus River is a pleasant whitewater spot nearby. But wait, there's more to do near Ryan

| | Lake. You can run the rapids of Cowlitz River close to Ryan Lake; why not camp at Quartz Creek Big Trees Campground if you're here at Ryan Lake. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Ryan Lake while overnight lows are commonly in the 40's. All through the winter highs are usually in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Ryan Lake. This lake is so wonderful. thing to do around Ryan Lake; Smith Creek Trail is a fine local trail. A quick spree to Grizzly Creek right next door to Ryan Lake is a splendid idea, and there's tremendous hiking along the Bean Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful.
You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the entertaining stuff in the Northern Cascade Range. You're possibly addicted to lakes, Ghost Lake is one of those nearby, and don't leave Ryan Lake without first going for
a hike along the Independence Pass Interpretive Trail. Looking for something right next door to Ryan Lake? Strawberry Lake is around here, and as expected, all our national parks are magnificent places to take a look at and Mount Rainier National Park is no exception.

McBride Lake
 | 16 miles away 2/3 of the lake is gone. Kalama River now flows right thru the middle of what used to be the lake. It is amazing to see. The 8100 road is washed out at mile 11 so plan on a 2 mile walk....McBride Lake is no longer in existance. Though I will have this confirmed on July 23, 2008. It is my understanding that during the 2007/2008 winter, a massive land slide occurred which filled the lake. McBride was once a great lake to catch and release fish throughout the day....McBride Lake is no longer in existance. Though I will have this confirmed on July 23, 2008.
