The Northern Cascade Range scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. There are other sites here than Lake Rowena, for example Shovel Lake, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Stephens Pass while you're here. Not far from Lake Rowena, you'll come across Lake Rebecca which is a charming lake; Lake Rowena is good enough to spend more than a day at, Foss River Campground is a good local campground. Lake Rowena frequently

| | gets a great deal of precipitation; the wettest month of the year is generally January, that's the one that snows the most, and July on the other hand is the driest. What a place this is for outdoors folks. In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Deception Creek. If the weather is pleasant here at Lake Rowena, you can go for a hike along the Escondido Trail; whitewater paddling is delightful on Foss River. And that's | |

not all there is to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. On a good day at Lake Rowena you can take a hike along the Cooper Pass Trail, and after a long day outdoors Howard Johnson Snoqualmie/Summit is a magnificent place to spend
a night or two. A wonderful place next to Lake Rowena is La Bohn Gap; if you need a spot to stay Suncadia Resort is a splendid choice. So many fun things in the Northern Cascade Range, just mind-blowing. Camping at Deception Falls
Campground is always a great experience, and there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Lake Michael Trail. This lake is so wonderful. The panorama of Bears Breast Mountain from Lake Rowena is charming, and getting to Chief
Creek from Lake Rowena is simple. Throughout the warm days of summer here at Lake Rowena, high temperatures generally reach the 60's. Once the sun is down it dips down to the 40's. Through the wintertime the highs are mostly in the
20's, and during the dark hours in the wintertime at Lake Rowena temperatures dip to the 10's. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in close proximity to Lake Rowena. Hinman Glacier is a great place to stop at while in the neighborhood, and you can never get enough of the fine skiing at Snoqualmie.

Bonnie Lake
Bonney lake Is not trained. It is drained in the winter, who ever runs the dam doesn't man it in winter so they let it drain. There was talk that they would not fill it any more....Just heard that Bonnie Lake is drained in the winter and then refilled in the Spring. Can you tell me why?...
Stephens Pass
1 PHOTO Stevens has a wide diversity of trails and runs that suits every riding style. From beginner to expert and for those terrain park junkies Stevens has you covered. I think what's special about Stevens is you can find your own little part of the mountain which is all yours, I have 4-5 little runs that cross between trails and off-piste that are all mine. Also the snow is crazy good, powder almost all the time. My favorite runs are Orion, some tree skiing near wall street, and right above the power lines. Stevens also has some pretty sweet out of bounds stuff to so check it out...
Fish Lake Campground
10 miles away Watch for grizzly. Esp. early spring and fall....
Tucquala Lake
10 miles away 1 PHOTO This ''Lake'' Is Beautiful. It really isn't a lake at all, in the summer it is a widening of the river. Very slow moving river, more like a slough, it is very clean, clear, and cold, mountain runoff. The fishing is excellent from a small boat or float tube, although the current can be somewhat strong. I fly fished, using a #14 Adams, and caught 11 rainbow and cutthroat trout between 6 & 11'', in the early to mid evening. This was in July of 2008. Camping was good, small sites along the main road. Keep your food in the cars though as Bears are definitely out....

Pacific Crest Trail - section 25
14 miles away Roundtrip Distance 17.4 miles Elevation Gain 2,574 ft. This peak is trailless, meaning a portion or all of the route up the mountain is via an unmarked trail. For this particular mountain, the typical route is known as a ''herd path'' which is not much more than a worn, but unmarked trail. Some of the herd paths are easy to follow, others are not. In many instances the hiker will travel down a false herd path and eventually have to correct his/her course via backtracking. For these particular mountains, it is imperative that the hiker carry a compass (and know how to use it) and topographic map....
Snoqualmie
15 miles away 3 PHOTOS From the steep and deep to the high-speed buffed-out cruisers, from our gentle learning areas to our benchmark parks and pipe, diversity is a way of life around here. With four unique base areas and less than an hour from Seattle on Interstate 90, no other resort in the country offers so much variety with this much convenience. Consider it a buffet for the outdoor enthusiast! For the third year in a row, we stayed open longer than any other resort in the state, this season through Memorial Day. What can we say? We love spring skiing as much as you do! So if you're looking for a true escape this winter, look no further than The Summit. Just around the corner... ...A MILLION MILES AWAY!...

Wish Poosh Campground
15 miles away We overnighted at this campsite a couple of weekends ago. The camp hosts were wonderful, they were informative and kept the grounds and the bathrooms spic-n-span clean. They were always in their golf cart putting around taking care of this or that. They scolded us for staying the night in a place we weren't supposed to, and I felt bad about that because I knew we shouldn't have stayed there but my partner insisted and it was his birthday. I knew they were just keeping order at the campground they were in charge of, and I appreciated that. Keep up the good work!...
