     Camping is available at Outpost Resort; a beautiful lake like Scotchman Lake is a great location to visit. Not much precipitation falls here at Ridge Lake; throughout the month of December you get the most snow around here while September is commonly the driest month. And that's not all you can do here at Ridge Lake. You'll come across a pretty lake called Yocum Lake near Ridge Lake. Red Man Creek is a stream that you may stumble upon while here, and a day  
   on the slopes of 49 Degrees North is just what you need.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry Canyon is in the neighborhood of Ridge Lake and is a tremendous location, and whitewater paddling is wonderful on Sullivan River. A glorious place to camp here at Ridge Lake is Bluesline Resort, and if you're a golfer then a magnificent close by course is Serendipity Golf Club. For the period of the summer months, highs usually are in the 80's at Ridge Lake. Summer night
 
               lows plunge down to the 50's. High temperatures during the winter are normally in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 10's for Ridge Lake.

.... The total snowfall at the ski area averages 300 inches or more, while the total average annual precipitation at the ski area is 36.10 inches, with 69 percent of the precipitation coming as snow between November to April.
During the winter, nearly all precipitation in the vicinity of the ski area falls as snow. In the town of Chewelah and the surrounding lower elevations west of Flowery Trial Pass the snow pack is limited; however, in the towns of Usk and Cusick, and the surrounding lower elevations east of Flowery Trail Pass, the snow pack is greater than the west side. Snow begins to accumulate in November and usually reaches its greatest depth and water content sometime during March.

Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful....
