If you are in this part of Washington make sure to pay a visit to Rex Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Olympic Mountains. Rex Lake is a wonderful site to visit for more than one day, Pines Trailer and Recreational is a wonderful site to camp nearby, and there are other sites here than Rex Lake, for example Cranberry Lake. Rex Lake gets lots of water; the month with most of the rain is December, and the driest of the months is July. is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Rainbow Lake is in the vicinity. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is great on Jefferson Creek, and you are near Oakland Bay while you're here. Johns Prairie
is a splendid place; if you're going to from Shelton, you won't be the only one. But wait, there's more to do near Rex Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Alderbrook Resort And Spa, also Lake Limerick Dam is worth a visit if you're here.
Summer at Rex Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Rex Lake sink into the 30's.

 | This is mainly a private lake for people who have houses on it. There is a boat launch which is very small and to the point. :) There is also a park for employees of a certain company which I forget the name of now. This lake is very clean and refreshing. It is great for boats and inter tubing and swimming all the same :) Love this Lake!!...THERE IS A PUBLIC AREA AT THIS PARK,BOATING SWIM AND PICNIC AREA... |

Upper Elk Lake
 | 15 miles away It's been about 6yrs. since I was last at upper Elk Lake,It was my most favorite place to camp. If you were lucky, and got the only camp site on the lake,the lake was yours. The water was so crystal clear, you could almost see the bottom. The fishing was't bad either. There are plenty of trails and creeks to explore.Including Jefferson creek, which will lead you to lower Elk Lake. My children loved this spot as much as I. There was also a rope swing on the other side of the lake.It was heaven. My youngest daughter traveled back to the lake this summer (2008). She says the lake is destroyed, with water plants and logs,she says the water is no longer clear. This makes me sad, I may just have to plan a trip to see for myself.... |
