Rainbow Lake gets much water; most of the rain falls through November while July is mostly the driest month. You'll stumble on a pretty lake called Battalion Lake near Rainbow Lake, and you can go for a hike on the Rainbow Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Sun Mountain       Lodge is a great choice. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Cascade Range. There's so much to do here at Rainbow Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Company Creek Campground is a delightful site for that, and get your heart pumping on the delightful whitewater of Granite Creek. Rainbow Lake truly is in the middle of a stunning outdoors paradise. You get a glorious panorama of Bowan Mountain from Rainbow Lake, and don't leave Rainbow Lake                  without first going for a hike along the West Fork Methow Trail. For the duration of the summer, highs regularly are in the 70's at Rainbow Lake. All through the moonlight hours it's typically in the 50's.
