If you like lakes and you're in this part of Washington you can check out Price Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Hamma Hamma River, and lakes are such peaceful sites, why not check out Tenas Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Olympic Mountains. There are some great whitewater spots on Jefferson Creek, and Price Lake is not far at all from Shelton. Why not stop by nearby East Fork Lilliwaup Creek since

Summer at Price Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's while nighttime lows are mostly in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while Price Lake nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 30's. Price Lake is a wet site that gets a good deal of rainfall; during December this area sees the most rain; July is the month with the least moisture.

There's just no way somebody can get bored here at Price Lake. Stay the night at Lilliwaup Creek Campground; on a lovely day you acquire a splendid panorama of Dow Mountain from Price Lake. So much exciting stuff in the Olympic Mountains,
just impressive. Going for a hike on the Mount Jupiter Trail is always a fine adventure, and on a splendid day you can visit Lilliwaup Swamp, a swamp close to Price Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Olympic Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful. Playing golf is lots of fun at Lake Cushman Golf Course, and Miller Pond is a splendid lake close by. There's so much to do here at Price Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Cushman Resort is a tremendous site for that; if you need a place to stay Super 8 Motel - Shelton is a perfect choice.

Upper Elk Lake
 | It's been about 6yrs. since I was last at upper Elk Lake,It was my most favorite place to camp. If you were lucky, and got the only camp site on the lake,the lake was yours. The water was so crystal clear, you could almost see the bottom. The fishing was't bad either. There are plenty of trails and creeks to explore.Including Jefferson creek, which will lead you to lower Elk Lake. My children loved this spot as much as I. There was also a rope swing on the other side of the lake.It was heaven. My youngest daughter traveled back to the lake this summer (2008). She says the lake is destroyed, with water plants and logs,she says the water is no longer clear. This makes me sad, I may just have to plan a trip to see for myself.... |

This is mainly a private lake for people who have houses on it. There is a boat launch which is very small and to the point. :) There is also a park for employees of a certain company which I forget the name of now. This lake is very clean and refreshing. It is great for boats and inter tubing and swimming all the same :) Love this Lake!!...THERE IS A PUBLIC AREA AT THIS PARK,BOATING SWIM AND PICNIC AREA... |
