Box Canyon is a great spot to explore; you can stay the night at Kettle River Campground. For the period of the summer months at Pittman Lake temperatures are typically in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. During the winter this place gets highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Pittman Lake. Pittman Lake is a location that       is pretty waterless mostly; December is the wettest month with most snow while September is frequently the driest month. If you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sherman Creek, and some nearby water includes Pierre Creek. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable stuff the area in close proximity to Pittman Lake has to offer. Pierre Lake Campground is a great campground nearby. Kettle River is a good whitewater                  spot close to Pittman Lake, and needless to say, all our national parks are glorious places to explore and Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area is no exception. This lake is so wonderful.
