    If you are in Stevens county it's always a good idea to stop by Phillips Lake. At Phillips Lake all through the summer highs are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows during the winter for Phillips Lake tend to be in the 10's. Big Sheep Creek is a stream that you may encounter during your stay, and if you came for an overnight stay Upper Columbia  
   Recreational Vehicle Park is a good spot to camp. Around Phillips Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year December is the one with the most snow, and September meanwhile is the driest month.
While you're here at Phillips Lake you have to check out Sand Point, and a lake close by is Quinns Meadows. This lake is so wonderful. From Phillips Lake you get a great vista of Grouse Mountain, and Sheep Creek Falls is a great local attraction.
 
               Silver Crown Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at, and The Upper Columbia RV and Campground is a pleasant campground nearby.
Now, you may feel that's heaps but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at Phillips Lake. Comfort Inn Colville is a tremendous spot to get some rest; the Terry Trail offers hiking at its best.

Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful....
