     Everybody loves Lenhart Meadows. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Phillips Lake has to offer, you can camp at Black Lake Resort. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors entertaining things the area near Phillips Lake has to offer. If you need a place to stay Comfort Inn Colville is a good choice. Brewer Mountain is easy to spot from Phillips Lake, and naturally, this is a wonderful area for folks who like lakes, Johnson Lake is a lake in  
   close proximity. Phillips Lake is a location that is rather waterless generally; December is the wettest month with most snow while September is typically the driest month.
High temperatures at Phillips Lake through the summer are in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's. For the duration of the wintertime the highs are mostly in the 30's with temperatures at Phillips Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Lakes are great; Bayley
 
               Lake is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Phillips Lake. There's so much to do here at Phillips Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Flodelle Campground is a great site for that. This lake is so wonderful. Limestone Spring is an inspiring site to check out while you're here, and 49 Degrees North is a very popular ski area in close proximity.

...sent site of 49ø North Mountain Resort. The completion of Cy?s Hut in 1936 and a rope tow in 1939 firmly established winter recreation on Chewelah Peak. Cy?s Hut burned in 1949. After the completion of the two story Chewelah Mountain Lodge in 1950 and installation of a double chair lift in 1951, the area experienced an increased volume of recreational users and tourists. Over a period of years, obsolescence of the lift and lack of revenue due to a gradual decline in the condition of the facilities, culminating in closure in early 1968.
On May 6, 1970, the Chewelah Basin Ski Corporation was formed and submitted a bid to develop and operate a ski resort in a basin approximately two miles east of the old area. Development commenced in late 1970 and continued during the summers of 1971 and 1972. Construction of three lifts, runs and a day lodge was completed and the area first operated for public use in late 1972. In 1976, the U.S. Forest Service approved a master plan allowing for continued upgrading and expansion within the existing Special Use Permit. A fourth lift was adde...

I enjoyed camping at Power Lake. It was a great, cleaN, and friendly campground. Although the lake is not very pretty there is a great creek. I enjoyed just chilling in the creek....

Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful....
