Fish Lake
Fishing at Queen Lucas Lake is trespassing on railroad property, isn't it? It is right in between two railroads? Tell me is it open to the public? wstorer@hotmail.com...$2 entry for over 6 years. Small lake with swimming beach and dock. Picnic tables and newer playground. Nice grassy patches to lounge in the shade. 12 miles from down town Spokane, great little get away for a summer day. Can rent paddle boats. Drawbacks: This is a very small recreational facility, so can get crowded on holidays. The playground is separated from swimming area, so can't watch children at playground from your 'beach camp', limited number of picnic tables. Otherwise great value for the money!...

Willow Lake
13 miles away Do not swim in Willow lake. Willow lake is an acidic cesspool that fish can't even live in. The water corodes the steel parts on our model boats that we sometimes run there. The water, if you are brave enough tastes like battery acid....

Mt. Spokane
20 miles away Great Washington skiing, lots of black diamonds. Mount Spokane gets good snow and plenty of it. I love the left side of the mountain the most....
