The warmest time of the year at Petit Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with temperatures at Petit Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights.       This lake is so wonderful. It's a great idea to explore Deerhorn Creek, it's right next door to Petit Lake; the top of Diamond Peak is easily made out from Petit Lake. So much entertaining stuff close to Petit Lake, definitely phenomenal. Camping at Petit Lake is fine fun, Stagger Inn Campground is a fine local campground, and Vista Motel is a good place to get some rest. From a rain point of view Petit Lake is a reasonably common site; December is the                  wettest month with most snow; the driest month of the year is July. If you come at the right time of year, Priest River offers some tremendous whitewater, and Mountain Meadows is a splendid location to stretch your legs a bit. There are some great whitewater spots on Sullivan River.
