Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! The Olympic Mountains is unbeatable! You'll meet a lot of people from Shelton here. Panhandle Lake is not the only site close by, Lost Lake is a close by lake, and if you need a location to stay Super 8 Motel - Shelton is a brilliant choice. During the days of summer highs here at Panhandle Lake get into the 70's, and all through       summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows in the 30's for Panhandle Lake. Now, you may assume that's a load but there's even more enjoyable things to do here in the Olympic Mountains. A nice site to camp here at Panhandle Lake is Lake Nahwatzel Resort, of course you could also check out Hillman Fish Pond if you're here; it's not far at all. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody                  but if it's for you then we recommend Vance Creek, and at Panhandle Lake you can see White Star. The high level of rain makes Panhandle Lake a pretty wet place; the month of December is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is July. This lake is so wonderful. There are some wonderful whitewater spots on Skokomish River - South Fork, and camping at YMCA Camp Bishop is always a great experience. The Olympic Mountains scenery is always beautiful. If only every place had this much outdoors entertaining stuff, what a great world it would be.
