After a long day outdoors Vineyard Inn is a fine spot to spend a night or two, and a lake nearby is Switch Pond. Palmer Pond is pretty dried out frequently; most of the rain falls through December; July on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Palmer Pond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, Arrowhead Campground and RV Park is a splendid local campground; a trip       to Columbia Plateau invigorates the soul. The warmest time of the year at Palmer Pond arrives with high temperatures in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's with temperatures at Palmer Pond dipping down into the 20's during winter nights. Dry warm beds await you at Sage 'n Sun Motel; lots of folks from Pendleton-Hermiston come here.
