    If you are traveling by, why not stop by Owens Lake. If you came for an overnight stay Wild Rose RV is a great place to camp; dry warm beds await you at Ramada Inn & Suites Spokane. Owens Lake gets very little rain; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow; July is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Hangman Creek, and you'll discover a lovely lake called
 
   Bear Lake. Summertime highs at Owens Lake generally tend to be in the 80's; the night is a bit chillier of course, usually in the 40's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 30's; night lows through the winter for Owens Lake tend to be in the 10's. There are some splendid whitewater spots on Spokane River, and camping is available at Jerry's Landing Resort.
While you're here at Owens Lake, you could also go to delightful Bailey
 
               Lake; Mt. Spokane is a very popular ski area in the neighborhood. This lake is so wonderful. Antler Springs Golf Course is a delightful golf course close by, and if you need a spot to stay Solar World Estates North is a great choice. Yeah, come here to Owens Lake for a good time. Deer Creek is in close proximity to Owens Lake and is always a pleasure to stop at, and you'll in all probability meet some people from Spokane here.

Climate
The climate at 49ø North Mountain Resort is similar to other higher altitude mountain settings; however, due to its geographical location, the ski area experiences different weather patterns than other Pacific Northwest ski areas. Situated in the southern Selkirk Mountains, the ski area has a unique climate due to its location one mile east of Flowery Trail Pass (4,046 ft) that produces moderate temperatures with consistent snow pack at higher elevations. The total snowfall at the ski area averages 300 inches or more, while the total average annual precipitation at the ski area is 36.10 inches, with 69 percent of the precipitation coming as snow between November to April.

Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful....
