There's always Trout Springs Hatchery Dam to visit near Orting Lake; if you come at the right time of year, Puyallup River offers some perfect whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Do have a look at Rhode Lake near Orting Lake, it's a beautiful lake; you'll meet a lot of folks from Seattle-Tacoma-Bellevue here. Stay the night at Sierra-rainier, and an afternoon playing golf at Hi-Cedars Golf Club is always a bliss.       If you need a location to stay Best Western Park Plaza is a good choice, and if you haven’t been to Mount Rainier National Park, you should schedule some time for it since you're here. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have a good time. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Orting Lake has to offer, you can camp at South Prairie Creek RV Park, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Carbon River. The annual rain here at Orting Lake is                  about average; the month with most of the rain is December, and July is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Coplar Creek is a splendid local stream. Dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites SUMNER; a short spree to Victor Falls is always worthwhile. Through the warmest time of the year here at Orting Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's, and the nighttime is slightly cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's.
