If you came for an overnight stay Olympia Campgrounds is a great place to camp, and a lake close by is Sheehan Lake. At Tempo Lake Dam near Offutt Lake there are some exciting things to see, and dry warm beds await you at Candlewood Suites OLYMPIA/ LACEY. All the outdoors cool stuff next to Offutt Lake will keep you coming back again and again. For you golfers we recommend nearby Capitol City Golf Club, and you can run the rapids of Deschutes River. | | highs at Offutt Lake ordinarily tend to be in the 70's, and the overnight is a tad cooler of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Offutt Lake temperatures sink to the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. near Offutt Lake is Nisqually River. During your trip to Offutt Lake you'll meet some people from Olympia for sure; Tempo Lake is a nearby lake that you could stop at. Offutt Lake is a reasonably wet place usually with lots of
precipitation; all through the month of December you get the most rain around here, and July meanwhile is the driest month.

Nisqually River
 | 18 miles away ...thing you should know about the Nisqually is that it is like most rivers, every year there is something new and unexpected. There are a few notable obstacles and log jams that have stuck over the past ten years or so. One of them is between McKenna and the Nisqually railroad trestle. It has been there as long as I can remember. But the river isn't too fast there and you should have plenty of time to get outta the way. The other problems are further down the river, the log jams that are past the Nisqually pines aren't too bad. Most of them are so far up on the river bank that only a few trees hang into the river ( not to say that there are none of them.) But the problem is that you raft right under the cliffs on FT. Lewis. They seem to like to throw cars off the cliffs and watch them hit the water.. Or this is a good way to dispose of stolen cars.. Because the water just churns and turns these cars into a spiky nightmare for the rafters and tubers of the Nisqually. I have yet to see one person go over the cars and not instantly blow there raft apart.. Just keep a good eye out for any ... |
