Going for a hike on the Cannon Beach Trail is always a brilliant adventure, and if you haven’t been to Fort Clatsop National Memorial, you must schedule some time for it while you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Looking for some flowing water? Try Columbia River; McKenzie Head is simple to spot from O'Neil Lake. O'Neil Lake is not far at all from Astoria, and O'Neil Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Eagle's Nest Resort is a good local campground.

High temperatures at O'Neil Lake through the summertime are in the 60's with overnight lows in the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and overnight lows through the winter for O'Neil Lake tend to be in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at O'Neil Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Naco Long Beach is a great site for that.
O'Neil Lake is a wet spot that gets a great deal of rain; December is when you get the most rain here;
July meanwhile is the driest month. If you're a golfer then a wonderful nearby course is Peninsula Golf Course, and after a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn & Suites is a tremendous place to spend a night or two. Now, you may think that's
a load but there's even more entertaining stuff to do here at O'Neil Lake. A delightful lake like McKenzie Head Lagoon near O'Neil Lake is a perfect site to check out, and don't leave O'Neil Lake without first checking out North Head.

Driftwood RV Park
| ...e mouth of the Columbia river. The Park is 2. 2 acres with 56 sites on it. All sites are grass, tables at each site, full hook-up with cable and Wi-Fi available. We are 2. 5 blocks from the beach and 14 blocks from downtown. We have showers, laundry, and a meeting hall available to groups. Our Park is perpendicular to the highway so most sites are well away from the road. There are hiking and bicycling trails, a national wildlife refuge, two beautiful light houses and much history dating back to Lewis and Clark's discovery in 1805. A great place to do exploring, fishing, hiking, and just being able to set on the beach and enjoy nature.
The town of Long Beach still retains some of the old charm from the 40's and 50's, yet being able to provide you with up to date services. Great dinning is available from several restaurants. Horse back riding, the Dunes Beach trail that now leads from Ilwaco north to north 16th St in Long Beach (7+ miles).
