Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! Nels Lake is excellent! Chocwich Campground is a perfect local campground; close by you stumble on the Meadow Mountain Trail which is a good hiking trail. Sauk River - North Fork is a perfect whitewater spot right next door to Nels Lake; there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Stephens Pass. All through the warm months highs here at Nels Lake reach the 70's; the overnight       is a tad chillier of course, generally in the 50's. Daytime highs all through the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Nels Lake are in the 20's. A short journey to North Fork Falls is always worthwhile; the Lost Creek Ridge Trail is a good hiking trail close by. This lake is so wonderful. Hit the slopes at Alpental close by, as expected you could also visit Goat Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. You truly should like the Northern                  Cascade Range. If you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Sloan Creek, and if you came for an overnight stay Bedal Campground is a delightful location to camp. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. A good panorama of beautiful Bedal Peak is available from Nels Lake, and Nels Lake is not the only place nearby, Cougar Lake is a nearby lake. Nels Lake is a wet place that gets much rainfall; through November this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is July. Nels Lake is located in the Northern Cascade Range. This lake is so wonderful.
