And that's not all there is to do here in the Olympic Mountains. Panhandle Lake is a great lake next to Mud Lakes, and Microtel Inn and Suites-Elma is a glorious location to get some rest. At Mud Lakes through the months of summer highs are in the 70's, and the night is a tad colder of course, typically in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows at Mud Lakes during the wintertime regularly       dip into the 30's. Just can't get enough of the Olympic Mountains. Mud Lakes is a wet location that gets much precipitation; throughout December this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is July. This lake is so wonderful. Lakes? Sure, Lost Lake is close by, and Cedar Creek is a magnificent whitewater spot close by. And if you're still looking for more outdoors cool things just keep reading. This is a popular place for people from Shelton,                  and camping is available at Pines Trailer and Recreational. A pleasant site like Lost Prairie here at Mud Lakes is too nice to miss, and in case you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Skokomish River - South Fork. A fine nearby hotel is Super 8 Motel - Shelton, and a pleasant site to camp here at Mud Lakes is YMCA Camp Bishop.
