Through the warm days of summer at Mud Lake highs are generally in the 80's while night lows are commonly in the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Mud Lake are in the 20's. A good nearby hotel is Comfort Suites Yakima. This lake is so wonderful. There are splendid places to discover along the Frost Mountain Lookout Trail, and a glorious site to camp here at Mud Lake is Hanging Tree Campground.       Get your heart beating on the nice whitewater of Tieton River; if you're interested in cool geologic marks try Horseshoe Bend. Going for a hike on the Keenan Meadows Trail is always a wonderful adventure; Mud Lake is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Windy Point Campground is a delightful local campground. This is no spot for people who don’t like to have fun. Go for a hike on the Fishhook Flats Trail, and you can run the rapids of Naches River.                  Mud Lake is generally a reasonably dried up spot; most of the snow falls all through December, and July is the month with the least moisture.
