Mud Lake is a location that is rather arid ordinarily; December is when you get the most snow here while October is ordinarily the driest month. Lake Ellen Campground is a perfect campground nearby; nice hiking is available along the White Mountain Trail. Some of the water close by flows, like La Fleur Creek; you can stay the night at Canyon Creek Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Do schedule some time to stop by French       Point near Mud Lake if you have a chance; Bald Hill is easy to spot from Mud Lake. Summertime highs at Mud Lake typically tend to be in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 40's. Highs through the wintertime are generally in the 20's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Mud Lake fall into the 10's. Man, is there a lot of exciting stuff to do in the neighborhood of Mud Lake. Comfort Inn Colville is                  a fine place to get some rest.
