     Fisherman's Cove Resort is a glorious local campground, and Colville National Forest is a glorious local forest. Have a great hiking adventure along the Bodie Mountain Trail, and there's some flowing water close by, Bamber Creek is a stream you can stop at during your stay. So many exciting things next to Mosquito Lake, simply phenomenal. Hiking along the Bodie Tonata Creek Trail is magnificent fun, and Mosquito Lake is right by the Laws Trail. Why not camp  
   at Tiffany's Resort if you're here at Mosquito Lake, and if you get bored of Mosquito Lake you could also visit close by Lake Butte.
At Mosquito Lake you don’t see much rainfall; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow; the driest month is October. During the warm months at Mosquito Lake highs are frequently in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 20's while Mosquito
 
               Lake overnight low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. Don't miss out on a visit to Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area while you're here at Mosquito Lake; a lake close by is Empire Lake.

Numerous annual events in Republic and surrounding areas for your enjoyment. Prospector Days, Motorcycle Rally(s), Wings over Republic Fly-In, there are rodeos, horseback riding, hunting, hiking and birding, X-Country Skiing, snowmobiling, fishing, Museums, Art Galleries, 3 Border Crossings to Canada, Airport and Antique Stores. Can be rented by the hour for private events and open to the public during special events.

Fishing at Curlew Lake that is open year round brings many campers to Republic. Trout, Bass and Tiger Muskie live in these cold waters. Many of the fishermen catch their limit (5) of rainblow trout within an hour. Public boat launch (free) is just down the road from the Campground.

Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful....
