Do stop by Moon Lake while you're in this part of Washington. Life's too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the vicinity of Moon Lake. Moon Lake is right by the Deadfall Trail, and there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Big Quilcene River. But wait, there's more fun stuff to do in the Olympic Mountains. Take a hike on the Mount Zion Trail. There's so much to do here at Moon Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sea Breeze Grocery is a brilliant

| | spot for that. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Moon Lake you will meet lots of folks from nearby Oak Harbor. Lakes are fine; Sunset Lake is a lake that's close to Moon Lake. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Moon Lake has to offer, you can camp at Discovery Bay Camp-peniel's. If you need a spot to stay Inn at Port Hadlock is a great choice; there's whitewater on Big Quilcene River for all you adrenaline people. It is very dry | |

here at Moon Lake commonly; during December this area sees the most rain, and July is the month with the least moisture. Moon Lake is located in the Olympic Mountains. Having a wonderful time in the Olympic Mountains is easy.
Not far from Moon Lake, you'll find Gibbs Lake which is a picturesque lake, and there's some interesting stuff to spot at City Lakes Dam close to Moon Lake. During the summertime here at Moon Lake, high temperatures commonly reach
the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 50's. Daytime highs throughout the winter are in the 40's, and after the sun is down throughout the winter temperatures at Moon Lake plunge into the 30's. This lake is so wonderful.
Aladdin Motor Inns is a magnificent site to get some rest, and hiking along the Bear Mountain Trail is brilliant fun.

Cattail Lake
 | 13 miles away Cattail Lake in within the Bangor Naval Submarine Base and has not been accessible (even to most navy personnel) since 911. I have not been to Cattail Lake in a long time. It is a small natural lake with no dam. I don't think there is public camping at the Erland Point Mobile Home Park or CRISTA Camps & Conference grounds. CRISTA Camps & Conference center is at the south end of Island Lake in Silverdale.... |
