Hood Meadows is a very popular ski area nearby; perhaps you're looking for nearby lakes? Sure, New Lake is just a very short distance away. Lots of people from Hood River come to Middle Lake, and you can take a little journey to Berge Reservoir Dam since you're here at Middle Lake. Cooper Spur has glorious slopes and a friendly staff, and don't leave Middle Lake without first going for a hike along the Wyeth Trail. And if       that's not sufficient, there's heaps more to do right next door to Middle Lake. Go for a hike on the Pacific Crest Trail - section 23, and Wind Mountain Resort is a magnificent local campground. Why not camp at Timberlake Campground if you're here at Middle Lake, unsurprisingly you could also stop at Long Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. This spot, the Central Cascade Range, has so much outdoors enjoyable things. Middle Lake gets a great deal of                  water; December is when you get the most rain here, and July on the other hand is the driest. And if you're still looking for more outdoors amusing things just keep reading. A great place for whitewater paddling near Middle Lake is Little White Salmon River, and if you need a spot to stay Rodeway Inn Stevenson is a great choice. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Middle Lake. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's; after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Middle Lake descend into the 30's. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the Central Cascade Range. Good hiking is available along the Brush Creek Trail, and if you don’t have a problem getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Hood River - West Fork. If you like the outdoors you'll like it here in the Central Cascade Range. Collins Point is reasonably near Middle Lake; Columbia Gorge Motel is a brilliant site to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. The summit of Shellrock Mountain can be seen from Middle Lake, and hey, Lindsey Creek is a brilliant local stream.
