You completely have to have a thing about Meta Lake. Don't leave Meta Lake without first going for a hike along the Smith Creek Trail; the top of Bismark Mountain is easily observed from Meta Lake. Meta Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; through December this area sees the most rain, and July meanwhile is the driest month. The Northern Cascade Range scenery is always       beautiful. Go for a hike on the Bean Creek Trail; a journey to Mount Rainier National Park is recommended. This lake is so wonderful. If you fancy a little side spree, try Bear Pass, and getting to Grizzly Creek from Meta Lake is easy. Man, is there lots of fun stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Curtis Lake is a great lake in close proximity to Meta Lake, and camping is available at Cowlitz Falls Campground. This lake is so wonderful. You can                  run the rapids of Cowlitz River in the neighborhood of Meta Lake. Summertime brings highs in the 70's to Meta Lake. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's while the cold winter nights at Meta Lake are in the 30's. So many fun things to do here in the Northern Cascade Range, too nice to be true. Camping at Quartz Creek Big Trees Campground is always a nice experience, and Muddy River is a glorious whitewater spot nearby.
