Melbourne Lake is a beautiful lake in the Olympic Mountains. High temperatures at Melbourne Lake during the months of summer are in the 70's. All through the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. The winter comes with highs in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Melbourne Lake. So much enjoyable stuff to do in the Olympic Mountains, not enough time. Melbourne Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Rest-a-while is a great

| | place to camp nearby, and do go to East Fork Lilliwaup Creek since you're here at Melbourne Lake. While you're here at Melbourne Lake you can take a hike along the Mount Jupiter Trail, and whitewater paddling is brilliant on Hamma Hamma River. Super 8 Shelton is a great site to get some rest, and while you're here, you could also go to lovely Osborn Lakes. There's no way someone can get bored here in the Olympic Mountains. a close by golf course like Lake Cushman Golf Course, and you'll meet a lot of folks from Shelton here. This lake is so wonderful. Lilliwaup Falls is always fun to check out; if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike
along the Royal Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. In case you don’t mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Jefferson Creek; you should have a look at Lilliwaup Bay when you're here. Melbourne Lake is a
wet place that gets a great deal of rain; December is when you get the most rain here while July is generally the driest month. Yeah, come here to Melbourne Lake for a brilliant time. Melbourne Lake Dam is worth visiting while
you're here; Tenas Lake is a nearby lake that you could pop by. So many entertaining things to do here at Melbourne Lake, too splendid to be true. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Melbourne Lake has to offer, you
can camp at Glen Ayr RV Park and Motel, and if you need a site to stay Alderbrook Resort and Spa is a great choice.

Upper Elk Lake
 | It's been about 6yrs. since I was last at upper Elk Lake,It was my most favorite place to camp. If you were lucky, and got the only camp site on the lake,the lake was yours. The water was so crystal clear, you could almost see the bottom. The fishing was't bad either. There are plenty of trails and creeks to explore.Including Jefferson creek, which will lead you to lower Elk Lake. My children loved this spot as much as I. There was also a rope swing on the other side of the lake.It was heaven. My youngest daughter traveled back to the lake this summer (2008). She says the lake is destroyed, with water plants and logs,she says the water is no longer clear. This makes me sad, I may just have to plan a trip to see for myself.... |

 | 13 miles away I have been swimming at this lake since i was a baby girl!!!...This is mainly a private lake for people who have houses on it. There is a boat launch which is very small and to the point. :) There is also a park for employees of a certain company which I forget the name of now. This lake is very clean and refreshing. It is great for boats and inter tubing and swimming all the same :) Love this Lake!!...THERE IS A PUBLIC AREA AT THIS PARK,BOATING SWIM AND PICNIC AREA... |
