     Meadow Pond is a nice lake to visit. It is very arid here at Meadow Pond mostly; the wettest month of the year is commonly December, that's the one that snows the most while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. At Meadow Pond you can spot Boudes Hill, and an attention-grabbing thing to pop by near Meadow Pond is Waitts Lake Dam.
All through the months of summer at Meadow Pond temperatures are mostly in the 80's while overnight lows are
 
   mostly in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Meadow Pond. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore close by Waitts Lake, and you can stay the night at Silver Beach Resort. This lake is so wonderful. The sights at Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area will blow your mind, and Comfort Inn Colville is a glorious place to get some rest.

...Ranger District, of the Colville National Forest, on the slopes of Chewelah Peak. 49ø North is located approximately 50 miles North of Spokane via US Highway 395 or via US Highway 2. The greater Spokane/Coeur d?Alene metropolitan area has a population of approximately 1,125,000 (the largest metropolitan area in Eastern Washington). Hightway 395 serves as the primary corridor to eastern British Columbia, Canada (approximately 55 miles north of Chewelah), while Flowery Trail Road is considered an important transportation conduit from the Colville Valley to the Pend Oreille River Valley. 49ø North is accessed via Flowery Trail Road approximately 10 miles East of the town of Chewelah, and 16 miles west of the town of Usk. Flowery Trail Road from the town of Chewelah is a paved, two-lane road that underwent an extensive face-lift courtesy of the Federal Highways Department. Flowery Trail Road from Usk was also re-aligned and paved offering a beautiful new route to our parking lot. The project was completed prior to the 2006/2007 winter season.

Interesting to see this area via google satelitte...in 1892 my paternal grandfather purchased 95.5 acres along the river at the China Bend area from the govt. It must have been repurchased by the Bureau of Reclamation when the Dam was being considered. Glad it's still beautiful....
