High temperatures at McDowell Lake during the summer months are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows descend down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's, and nighttime lows in the 20's for McDowell Lake. A good close by hotel is Willow Springs Motel near EWU, and this is a       popular site for folks from Spokane. McDowell Lake gets very little rain; December is the wettest month with most snow; July is the month with the least moisture. So many fun things to do here at McDowell Lake, too great to be true. After a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites CHENEY-UNIVERSITY AREA is a nice site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Hangman Creek offers some fine whitewater;                  since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always pop by nearby East Tritt Lake.
