From McDaniel Lake you obtain a magnificent sight of Meeks Table, and a short spree to Mud Spring is always worthwhile. Going for a hike on the Richmond Mine Trail is always a magnificent adventure; in the event that you don't mind getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on American River. A great place for whitewater paddling close to McDaniel Lake is Rattlesnake Creek - Naches Tributary.
