In case you don’t mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Nisqually River; if you're going to from Olympia, you won't be the only one. McClure Lake is one of the lakes here in the Northern Cascade Range. Summertime at McClure Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's. For the period of the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 50's. Highs through the winter are typically in the 40's with winter lows in the 30's overnight here at McClure
   Lake.
McClure Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; throughout December this area sees the most rain while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation. And that's not all you can do here at McClure Lake. There are other locations here than McClure Lake, for example McEnniery Lake; Holiday Inn Express OCEAN SHORES is a magnificent location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Gehrke Lake is a glorious lake near McClure Lake, and if you

need a site to stay Thornewood Castle Inn And Gardens is a nice choice.
Stay the night at Martin way Mobile Home Park, and playing golf is lots of fun at Nisqually Valley Golf Course. But wait, there's more amusing stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. Deschutes River is a great whitewater spot right next door to McClure Lake, and Nisqually Plaza RV Park is a good campground nearby. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Northern Cascade Range.

Nisqually River
...y, I have rafted the Nisqually river since I was about 13 years old (27 now). The thing you should know about the Nisqually is that it is like most rivers, every year there is something new and unexpected. There are a few notable obstacles and log jams that have stuck over the past ten years or so. One of them is between McKenna and the Nisqually railroad trestle. It has been there as long as I can remember. But the river isn't too fast there and you should have plenty of time to get outta the way. The other problems are further down the river, the log jams that are past the Nisqually pines aren't too bad. Most of them are so far up on the river bank that only a few trees hang into the river ( not to say that there are none of them.) But the problem is that you raft right under the cliffs on FT. Lewis. They seem to like to throw cars off the cliffs and watch them hit the water.. Or this is a good way to dispose of stolen cars.. Because the water just churns and turns these cars into a spiky nightmare for the rafters and tubers of the Nisqually. I have yet to see one person go over th...
