and Low Divide is a good place to spend some time. This is a great vicinity for people who like lakes. Martins Lakes is a lake in the neighborhood, and a nice spot for whitewater paddling is Quinault River. This lake is one of the
great places here in the Olympic Mountains. Any time is a splendid time at Lake Mary if you love the outdoors. A magnificent nearby hotel is Quality Inn Uptown. Having a good time in the Olympic Mountains is simple. Don’t forget
to stop by Elwha Basin while you're here at Lake Mary, and after a long day outdoors Red Lion Hotel Port Angeles is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. Through the days of summer highs here at Lake Mary reach the 70's; during
summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Lake Mary.

Yes the Elwha River trail is only 18 miles away but that is by trail straight through the heart of the Olympic Mtns. And park. ...Wynoochee Falls campground has been closed and the campground sign, firepits, restroom and tables removed. You?ll have to drive about 15 miles of gravel road to get here. There is a rock pedestal with a missing sign along the Wynoochee road 4 miles NE of the lake near the end of the road. This marks the parking area and access trail down to the falls. The ? mile trail is interrupted with large ditches to discourage access and camping. The waterfall is only about 100 feet high, (maybe less) but very picturesque, with a large clear basin at its base and an outlet scoured through granite rocks.... |

We got stuck at the intersection for 3? hours on Thursday, August 7, as the road didn't open until 6:30 p.m. Rumor is that the paving work and road closures will continue for the next two years....WHEN YOU TAKE THE HIKE AROUND THE LAKE BE SURE YOU TAKE WATER AND FOOD.
