Long Lake is one of the lakes here in the Central Cascade Range. Summer at Long Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 70's with night lows in the 50's. High temperatures all through the wintertime are normally in the 40's while Long Lake overnight low temperatures through the winter are in the 30's. This lake is so wonderful. The Wyeth Trail is a great hiking trail right next door to Long Lake, and there's       some flowing water nearby, Lindsey Creek is a stream you can check out during your stay. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Timberlake Campground, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Cooper Spur is rather near. There is a great hiking trail close to Long Lake called the Brush Creek Trail, and there's whitewater on Little White Salmon River for all you adrenaline kick people. Now, you may feel that's a load but there's even more cool stuff to do                  here in the Central Cascade Range. Be careful coming to Long Lake, you might not ever want to return home again. On a great day at Long Lake you can take a hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 23, and Shellrock Mountain is trouble-free to spot from Long Lake. After a long day outdoors Best Western Columbia River Inn is a perfect place to spend a night or two; if you get bored of Long Lake you could also go to close by New Lake. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Long Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Skamania Lodge, and Middle Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at. Just can't get enough of the Central Cascade Range. Collins Point is nearby and always great to check out, and get your pulse rate up on the magnificent whitewater of Hood River - West Fork. And if that's not sufficient there's plenty more enjoyable stuff to do in the Central Cascade Range. Berge Reservoir Dam has delightful water scenery and it's in the vicinity of Long Lake, and Mt. Hood Meadows is a brilliant local ski area. The high level of rainfall makes Long Lake a pretty wet site; the month with most of the rain is December; July on the other hand is the driest. At Long Lake you always meet someone from Hood River.
