Any time is a great time at Long Lake if you go for the outdoors. A great spot to camp here at Long Lake is Margie's RV Park, and Long Lake is right by the Coxit Creek Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Funk Mountain Trail; camping is available at Carl Precht Memorial RV Park. A day on the slopes of Loup Loup Ski Bowl is just what you need. Lakes? Sure,       Short Mountain Lake is around here. At Long Lake all through the warm months highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 50's. Throughout the winter highs are in the 30's; after the sun is down throughout the wintertime temperatures at Long Lake dip into the 10's. Long Lake is a location that is relatively dehydrated regularly; the month of December is the wettest with most of the snow while July is frequently the driest month. The                  summit of Short Mountain can be seen from Long Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Long Lake; Sarsapkin Creek Trail is a great local trail.
