    If you are in Clallam county it's always a good idea to stop by Lizard Lake. Having a good time in the Olympic Mountains is simple. Going for a hike on the Pass Trail is always a nice adventure; after a long day outdoors Kalaloch Lodge is a brilliant place to spend a night or two. But wait, there's more enjoyable stuff to do in the Olympic Mountains. This lake is one of the great places here in the Olympic Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful. Some of
 
   the water nearby flows, like East Branch Herman Creek, and dry warm beds await you at Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort. There is a good hiking trail close to Lizard Lake called the Rugged Ridge Trail; a good place to camp here at Lizard Lake is Sams Trailer and RV Park. There's whitewater on Soleduck River for all you adrenaline kick people; why not camp at Olson's Resort if you're here at Lizard Lake.
Lots of precipitation falls at Lizard Lake; November is when
 
               you get the most rain here; the driest month is July. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Lizard Lake while overnight lows are frequently in the 40's. Throughout the wintertime highs are frequently in the 40's with temperatures at Lizard Lake dipping down into the 30's all through winter nights. What a place this is for outdoors people. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Hoko River, and Herman Falls is a wonderful local attraction.
