If you are in Mason county it's always a good idea to stop by Larson Lake. This lake is one of the great places here in the Olympic Mountains. Larson Lake is a wet place that gets a lot of precipitation; throughout the month of December you get the most rain around here; July is when it's the driest. You're almost certainly into lakes, Collins Lake is one of those close by, and there are some delightful whitewater spots on Duckabush River.

| | the summertime highs are in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 30's to Larson Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Larson Lake; Mount Jupiter Trail is a pleasant local trail, and lots of people from Shelton come here. You'll really wish for more hours
in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Olympic Mountains. There's so much to do here at Larson Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Trask Timber Trails Assn is a great spot for that, and after a long day outdoors Alderbrook Resort And Spa is a delightful location to spend a night or two.
