If only every site had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great planet it would be. A short journey to Lower John Day Rapids is always worthwhile. A stunning lake like Wheelhouse Pond close to Lake Umatilla is a good place to pop by, and the scenery at John Day Dam is delightful. Lake Umatilla is pretty waterless regularly; December is when you get the most snow here while July is the month with the least amount of precipitation.       This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Rufus RV Park, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn & Suites is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. There's so much to do here at Lake Umatilla that you need to camp here for a while, Bob's Budget RV and Trailer Park is a great site for that; you'll discover a beautiful lake called McCarty Pond. High temperatures at Lake Umatilla all through the warm days of summer are in the 80's. Summer night lows fall                  down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 30's while Lake Umatilla overnight low temperatures all through the wintertime are in the 20's.
