Going for a hike along the Moraine Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and stopping by Mount Rainier National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. Johnson Lake gets a large amount of water; during November this area sees the most rain, and the driest of the months is July. too short to enjoy all the fun stuff in the Northern Cascade Range. Lakes? Sure, Cliff Lake is close at hand, and Johnson Lake is wonderful enough to spend more than a day at, Cougar Rock Campground is a wonderful local campground.
This lake is so wonderful. Why not have a look at close by Tatoosh Creek since you're here at Johnson Lake, and here at Johnson Lake you can distinguish Chutla Peak. All through the long summer days here at Johnson Lake, high
temperatures regularly get into the 70's, and the overnight is a bit cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are regularly in the 40's with temperatures at Johnson Lake dipping down into the
30's through winter nights. All year is a fine time in the Northern Cascade Range if you like the outdoors. Drift down the rapids of Butter Creek in a kayak, and the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Crystal Mountain.

Lake Christine
 | 11 miles away July 19, 2008-- We hiked up to Mt. Beljica this date. I would not recommend it just yet because of the unusually heavy snowfall last winter, unless you're very familiar with the trail. The entire trail is still snow covered from Lake Christine on up to the top of Mt. Beljica. We lost the trail, and then found it again.... that was a bit unnerving.... |

White Pass
 | 26 miles away ...special though, is the friendly, family-oriented atmosphere. It's what makes White Pass a ski and snowboard paradise. The White Pass experience starts with a bountiful snowfall (350'' in an average season) and with the highest base elevation on the crest of the Washington Cascades. The resort strikes a perfect balance between pulse quickening steeps, wide open cruisers and gentle learning areas with 33 percent of the terrain geared toward experts, 43 percent toward intermediates and 24 percent toward beginners. Nothing gets you to the top faster than the Great White Express, Washington's only Doppelmayr high-speed detachable quad. Great White can take you from the base to the summit in five minutes. White Pass is recognized as one of the greatest mountains to ride in the Northwest. Natural quarter-pipes, kickers, drops, cornices and chutes challenge even the most experienced boarder. It offers a half-pipe. It's got one of the most scenic and well-maintained cross-country areas in the Northwest. The 18 km of double track, which allows both classic and skating, circles a... |
