Johnny Lakes is a very beautiful lake in beautiful surroundings. There's splendid hiking along the Boundary Trail; there are some fine whitewater spots on Lost River. Around Johnny Lakes you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is regularly December, that's the one that snows the most, and July is the month with the least moisture. | | down it dips down to the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 20's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Johnny Lakes.

Northern Cascade Range. One of the governing features of the surroundings of Johnny Lakes is Lost Peak, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Johnny Lakes; Driveway Butte Trail is a tremendous local trail.

There's so much to do here at Johnny Lakes that you need to camp here for a while, Gate Creek Campground is a great place for that, and fine hiking is available along the Monument Creek Trail.
