Island Lake is located in the Northern Cascade Range. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the Northern Cascade Range has to offer. There's so much to do here at Island Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Ballard Campground is a fine place for that, and the Monument Creek       Trail offers hiking at its best. Take a little trip to Deception Creek if you're here at Island Lake; whitewater paddling is glorious on Lost River. Having a nice time in the Northern Cascade Range is painless. Lakes are such serene sites, why not take a look at First Hidden Lake next to Island Lake. Whohoo, so much amusing stuff in one place! Island Lake is so good! There are other places here than Island Lake, for example Cougar Lake; after a long day                  outdoors Sun Mountain Lodge is a nice location to spend a night or two. Stay the night at Gate Creek Campground, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Driveway Butte Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Island Mountain is painless to spot from Island Lake, and there's tremendous hiking along the Boundary Trail. Through the warm months here at Island Lake, high temperatures mostly get into the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 50's.
