Lake Ida is a lake worth visiting. And if that's not sufficient there's a load more amusing stuff to do in the Northern Cascade Range. While you're here at Lake Ida you can take a hike along the Snow Lakes Trail, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn & Suites is a nice spot to spend a night or two. Lake Ida is one of the lakes here in the Northern Cascade Range. Johnny Creek Campground is a brilliant campground nearby; Carter Lake is a great lake nearby.

| | Best Western Icicle Inn is a tremendous location to get some rest; glide down the rapids of Icicle Creek in a kayak. Lake Ida is a relatively wet place typically with much rain; through the month of January you get the most snow around here; the driest month is July. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. If you came for an overnight stay Ida Creek Campground is a glorious site to camp, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Bob Creek. | |

For the period of the long summer days here at Lake Ida, high temperatures regularly get into the 60's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. Through the winter the highs are mostly in the 20's while Lake Ida overnight low
temperatures during the winter are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. A lovely lake like Lake Augusta close to Lake Ida is a glorious place to explore, and you can have a delightful hiking adventure along the Icicle Trail. Now,
you may think that's plenty but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here in the Northern Cascade Range. Going for a hike along the County Line Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region.

Tumwater Campground
Tumwater is my favorite campground. I have been to so many because I am a WA native. There are many sites that sit on the river or creek. The grounds are beautiful and plenty close to Leavenworth....
Toketie Lake
I liked the little lake. I went straight up the canyon side from the last place the Snow Lakes trail comes near the creek, a little above the gully that comes down from Toketie. There is a puzzle at the top where the gully turns south 1/4 M from the lake. I climbed a small cliff there, could find no other way. The lake was pretty. Total distance about 3 miles one way....This is hystericcal. <.....> The short route is 7 or so miles and a 4000ft+ of elevation gain on a ''trail'' that is a more of a climbers path that most climbers avoid. Rat Creek is a season creek that drops 6000ft in 2 miles though loose overgrown terrain. The area is incredibly beutiful but take my advice and stay on maintained trails unless you know what your doing....

Napeequa Crossing Campground
13 miles away Well, most of the information in this little blurb is wrong: The nearest Metro area is not Ellensburg, it is Leavenworth. Lake Elsley? I have never heard of it, and have been in the area for 30 years. There is no such place called Indian Ponds anywhere around the campground. Though a beautiful hike, Napeequa Crossing to Twin Lakes is not an easy stroll, it is approximately 3.2+ miles one way, with many switchbacks, and to the average city person, a hard slog. This Article makes it sound like White river falls are on the way to Twin Lakes, which they are not. They are reached by driving on up the valley 5 more miles or so to the correct turnout. Also, it should be mentioned that from the beginning of camping season till Mid August, you should slather yourself in Bug repellant to keep from being eaten alive by Mosquitoes. The campground is located on the confluence of the White and Napeequa Rivers, which flow into Lake Wenatchee....

Tucquala Lake
15 miles away 1 PHOTO This ''Lake'' Is Beautiful. It really isn't a lake at all, in the summer it is a widening of the river. Very slow moving river, more like a slough, it is very clean, clear, and cold, mountain runoff. The fishing is excellent from a small boat or float tube, although the current can be somewhat strong. I fly fished, using a #14 Adams, and caught 11 rainbow and cutthroat trout between 6 & 11'', in the early to mid evening. This was in July of 2008. Camping was good, small sites along the main road. Keep your food in the cars though as Bears are definitely out....
