If you come       at the right time of year, Johnson Creek offers some great whitewater, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Pacific Crest Trail - section 24. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cispus River, and there's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at close by Crystal Mountain. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Spring Creek Campground is a magnificent spot to do that, and there's good hiking along the Jordan Creek Trail. There's so much to do here at Hugo Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Chambers Lake Campground is a great spot for that, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Hugo Lake; Angry Mountain Trail is a fine local trail. For the period of the warm days of summer here at Hugo Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Hugo Lake temperatures fall to the 20's.
