The Georges Peak Trail is a glorious hiking trail right next door to Horseshoe Lake; a tremendous place for whitewater paddling is Kalama River. Summertime highs at Horseshoe Lake commonly tend to be in the 70's. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Mud Lake; Best Western Oak Meadows Inn is a perfect place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. Horseshoe Lake is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Woodland Shores RV Park is a brilliant local campground.
