    A visit to Heart Lake is always a good idea. Everybody close by loves skiing at Mt.Baker, as expected you could also explore Lake Erie if you're here; it's not far at all. Devils Elbow is something you shouldn't miss if you're here at Heart Lake, and if you've had enough of Heart Lake, Cranberry Lake is nearby. You're sure to come across some nice folks from Oak Harbor here, and you can hit the beach if you want, Anaco Beach is practically right here.
There
 
   are some fine whitewater spots on Whatcom Creek, and from Heart Lake you acquire a brilliant vista of Mount Erie. This lake is so wonderful. Cranberry Lake Dam is an interesting thing to check out, and nothing beats kicking back at North Beach. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! Heart Lake rocks!.
This lake is so wonderful. Auld Holland Inn is a tremendous location to get some rest; Fidalgo Bay Resort is a brilliant campground nearby. The annual precipitation
 
               here at Heart Lake is about average; December is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is July. For the duration of the summer months highs here at Heart Lake get into the 60's, and throughout summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are regularly in the 40's, and throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Heart Lake temperatures sink to the 30's.

Doe Bay Resort & Retreat.... the best kept secret in the San Juan Islands of Washington. I went Hiking on Mt Constitution and Kayaking and came home to killer organic gourmet food at the Doe Bay Cafe. The soaking tubs and sauna are brand new and look out over one of the prettiest bays in the world. They are clothing optional and peaceful. They have a huge organic garden that provides vegetables and greens for the cafe. I love the cabins but the yurts are still my favorite. Warning- there are more and more weddings which book the whole place so call or check their website...
